For today's article, we are going to talk about the tibetan flag, a very important symbol for the Tibetan people. Not to be mistaken with Tibetan prayer flags which are more popular for westerners but which have deep meanings.

The symbolism of the flag include the moutnain representing Tibet, the snow lions of "a unified spiritual and secular life", three-colored jewel of the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha.

Not to be mistaken with Tibetan prayers flags.

Each hue signifies an element - and the flags are always arranged in a specific order, from left to right: blue, white, red, green, yellow. Blue represents the sky, white represents the air, red symbolizes fire, green symbolizes water, and yellow symbolizes earth. All five colours together signify balance.
